I just watched Alicia Keys’ Live Performance from last night on YouTube. The performance introduced some of her new songs off of her new album Element Of Freedom and was shown to raise awarness for World AIDS Day.

I absolutely loved every song sung… but the one that stood out most to me was “Distance and Time.”

Some Truths..

Truth Number One:

I am anxiously awaiting Chris Brown’s album.. I want to love the album but from the songs that have leaked so far, it isn’t likely. Don’t get me wrong I am still buying the album.. out of support. But I secretly want to LOVE the album. I just hope that I can. I want to see him come back and become a better artist, person and most of all a man. December 8th, Graffiti will be in stores. Pray. All I want for him is.. the best.

Truth Number Two:

The moon tonight has a halo around it. I tried to take a picture but the halo didn’t make the cut. But the full moon was spectacular and the halo was the silver lining.

Truth Number Three:

I must admit, even though I am a Kanye fan.. I do believe that Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive. I am sitting here watching his Behind The Music and this is what makes me think he is the best rapper alive. Jay-Z is also great.. but he isn’t the best, in my eyes. Kanye is still my number one though. hmph.

Truth Number Four:

From now on I will surround myself with nothing but peace and love. I am in love with a awesome guy and I hope this works out. My family is wonderful. I wouldn’t trade the ups and downs I go through with both [my boyfriend and my family] for anything in the world. I love them. But God is and will always be my Number One.

Truth Number Five:

I honestly believe Art is better than Fashion. The world runs off of ART…

Truth Number Six:

I don’t care about all the pain in front of me. I’m just trying to be happy.

I know that I am a little late introducing you all to Grizzly Bear.. but I had to figure out if I REALLY enjoyed their music before I put them up here. Their up here.. so.. I ENJOY. Alot.Their career began in 2004 when they released Horn of Plenty.. in 2006 they released Yellow House and here in 2009 they released Veckatimest. Some of my favorite songs from the 2009 album are While You Wait For The Others, I Live With You, and Two Weeks.

Here is a song released by Solange a couple of weeks ago that I absolutely love .. but didn’t get the chance to post it then! Enjoy.. its called Stillness Is The Move.

If you did not already know, Solange is number one on my list of female artists. She is awesome musically and most importantly as a human being. Being comfortable in your own skin is what I look for in people and she epitomizes this to me.
